Wellness Reimbursement Program

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to health. That’s why our Wellness Reimbursement Program is designed to help you reach your wellness goals in the way that works best for you. Whether it’s a gym membership, a wellness class, or new fitness equipment, we’ve got you covered. You could be reimbursed up to $600 annually!

You are eligible to participate in this program if you are a permanent employee working 20 or more hours per week.

To receive reimbursement, you must be actively employed at the time of payment. If you leave the Company within three months of receiving reimbursement, you will be required to repay the amount.

All reimbursement requests for expenses incurred during the calendar year must be submitted by December 2. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Memberships

Gym membership, initiation fees, registration fees, health center fees, bike share, tennis, swim clubs, rock climbing, ski lift tickets, skate park, tournament fees

Note: A membership may include your immediate family members (spouse and eligible dependent children), but as the employee, you must be the principal member in a family membership.

Fitness trackers

Apple Watch, Fitbit, Jawbone, Garmin vívofit, or a similar fitness wearable; health apps

Equipment

Stationary bike, treadmill, elliptical machine, Stairmaster, golf clubs, yoga mat, or sports equipment (for example, hockey, tennis, soccer, etc.)

Apparel

Shoes (for any sport), helmet, skates, or other apparel items associated with a sports program

Extra-curricular activities

Weight-loss programs (e.g., WW, formerly known as WeightWatchers, etc.), sports teams or clubs

Exercise technology

Videos, subscriptions, games, and apps: Wii Fit, Peloton, health apps, or similar items

The company will reimburse expenses up to $600 per year. During your first year of employment, this amount is pro-rated based on your date of hire, as shown below.

Note: Reimbursements are treated as taxable compensation and will be reflected on T4s at year-end.

Requesting reimbursement is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Fill out the Canada — Wellness Program Application for Reimbursement.
  2. Provide supporting documentation. If you’re requesting reimbursement of:
    • Program fees or membership, attach documentation from the organization describing the facilities or services available through the program and official receipts for the associated fees.
    • Expenses for a fitness product or equipment, attach a receipt showing the item for which you’re requesting reimbursement.
    • Applications that do not have the required documentation and/or receipts will not be processed.
  3. Submit the form, documentation, and receipt(s) to HR4You at the link in the form.
